Defence Of The Ancients

I have been sucked into another dimension called Dota!. For the recent weeks, i have spent 60% of my time on this game, figuring out strategies, understanding how items work, experimenting heroes abilities - everything needed to know how to abuse the game. It is one heck of an addictive game, especially when you have Europe PvPgN at home!. There would be no need to go out to cyber cafe and fork money just to play Dota. My favourite Imba Heroes are Stealth Assassin, Bone Clinkz, Drow Ranger, Ursa, and Slayer!. Ownage heroes.

This is all leading to a self battling ryan, between the " Ryan promised to study harder this semester " with the " Ryan that loves Dota ". With classmates that encourages you to play truant and travel to OUG for Dota games, and actually falls to such temptation. Like Ban said- Fragile Will. But then again, when i am sitting there at Warnet, playing the game, Its all worth it!. There comes the profanity when somebody kills somebody else, and evil laughter for the player that assassinated an opponent.

The deepest and strongest word i that hear all the time is " I'm losing myself again ". Which is exactly what i am trying to ignore, i cant bear listening to it as it triggers other uncomfortable memories. Gawd! I need to control myself.

Marilyn, Sarah and Me at Italianies!. Another eatery i consider luxurious, like really! Its just great to fellowship with my old schoolmates after years of graduating from high school. During dinner, i kind of tapped into their gal conversation! ^_^ It is truly a memorable dinner and night. I forgot to take pictures of the food because everyone was so excited about the food that they went food frenzy. The thing is - we sat there from 8:30 until 11:30, the longest dinner i ever had as all of us didn't want to leave and we had no idea time flew pass our eyes. Oh just in case, Thanks a lot Sarah for everything, especially the meal *wink*. I m so stuffed and sleepy, so CHeeRs. Posted by Hello

The Intelligence Test

Your Dominant Intelligence is Spatial Intelligence

You've got a good sense of space and how the world around you looks.
You can close your eyes and "see" images. You have innate artistic talent.
An eye for color and shapes, you're also a natural designer.
Since you think in pictures, visual aids and demonstartions help you learn best.

You would make a good navigator, sculptor, visual artist, inventor, architect, interior designer, or engineer.

The Weight Issue

The one problem that haunts me, i have major difficulty in gaining weight. I can eat like 2 kg amount of food and when i jump on a weighing machine, it will dumbly tell no difference before i took a spoon of rice. The only rational-biological science that explains my catastrophic situation is that my metabolisme is naturally high,:- even when i am watching dvd, i can be burning calories all the way back to square 1. So then i was told that body building gains weight, the muscles produced stays as mass and increases weight. So the quest for 10kg begins!.

Recently, i bought a door chinning bar and attached it to my room door. This was on top of my almost consistent workout at the gym facilities back in campus. Now, i could workout right at home with this bar. Soon people, i'll be in perfect weight.

I found this article for weight-gaining on the internet, just to share~

5 steps

1) Count how many calories you eat in a normal day. Don't change anything, just eat like you normally would and count how many calories you consumed. This is an extremely important step, so try to be as exact as possible. Also, weigh yourself.

2) Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories MORE then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would now eat 2500 calories a day. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5-6 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. To get big, you have to eat big! Remember that.

3) Weightlifting! Get in the gym and lift! This is another important step to how to gain weight, so make sure you are doing it correctly. For more information on weightlifting workout routines and splits, read the workout routines and splits section.

4) At the end of that week, weigh yourself. You'll notice your gaining just after one week! Now, don't expect to see a 10lb increase. Gaining anymore then 1 or 2 pounds a week is unhealthy and means your putting on way to much fat. So look for 1 or 2 pound gains at the end of the week. Don't sound like much? You can be gaining 5-8 pounds a month!

5) Heres an important one. At some point, you will stop seeing weight gain. At this point, you will have to eat even more. So, when you stop gaining for at least 2 weeks, it means it is time to start eating an extra 250 calories a day. Every time you see you haven't gained weight for at least 2 weeks, add an extra 250 calories.

More tips for how to gain weight (extremely important!)

- Stay away from fat! Eventhough weight gain is your goal, you don't want to be gaining fat. Get rid of the chips and candy. No more fast food, nothing fried. Stick to high protein low fat foods like tuna fish (and other seafood), chicken breast, turkey, lean meats, fruits and vegetables etc. (For more information, read the diet and nutrition section.

- WATER! Drink water! Drink around a half gallon a day, more if you can. Yes thats alot of water, but its that water that will give you the energy you need to gain that weight!

- Sleep! YES! Sleep! The easiest, yet most over looked step. Get atleast 8 hours of sleep a night. Your gonna need it!

Now the concern some people have about how to gain weight, is how to do it without putting on extra fat. Let me tell you how, YOU CAN'T! Unless you are using steroids, it is basically impossible to gain weight without putting on a little bit of extra fat. But hey, you want to see some weight gain right? Well then who cares about the little bit of extra fat you might put on while gaining. You will be able to burn that off later on, right now gaining is your main concern, so that is all you need to worry about.

Journal Entry : How was Jan 2005?

The beginning of 2005 was the triggered by a chain of examinations. Not exactly a great way to start out a year with brilliant resolutions but guess what, i dragged myself to complete the exam. All the intensive overnight complete learning of the entire subject, just trying to do my best on the paper. The worst part of every paper is that there is a major! careless mistake that cost 25 marks. This cant get worst than anybody else, so if i am not at the lower 50% percentile of the class, i'll be glad. Then again, who celebrates mediocrities? The whole world is getting absorbed with competition and obssessed with excellent results, where it runs by survival of the fittest.
Anyway, the results for several subject have been informally released, and it is quite dissapointing. This pushes me to think about the possibility of getting a 1st class degree or at least 2nd class upper. I am in the midst of the second semester of year 2 and the subjects are seriously going to be really impossible!. These subjects are good reason for anyone to suicide, well probably.

After all the hard time, i spent my 4 days break to the maximum!, tried out shisha at bangar, went movies and shopping at 1 utama and midvalley. As a result, on sunday i got down with fever and bodyache allover especially the leg, What-a-workout!. Almost completed my shopping list for chinese new year except for two more shorts, but mom won't allow any increase in my shopping funds, almost swiped the card to limit!.

Finally finished Heavenly Man, so going to start on a book called 'Prayer' where i can express my devotional emotions to Him with elegance and beauty in simplicity anticipating for his persistence in intercession will motivate me to pursue God in prayer.

Just felt like posting this so that i'll know how my 2005. Next thing to look forward to would be Chinese New Year!.

The New Year People Call 2005

Well well well, What do you know! Its 2005, Happy New Year to everybody in this world. Its time for reflection i suppose.

First of all, as blogged previously, i was in phuket and few days after i got back from phuket, Tsunami hit the exact place i was at - Patong Beach. I can imagine all those tourist and those european females that like to go topless hanging out at the beach being washed by a 15 m tidal wave. So helplessly washed like in a giant washing machine.

Imagine putting few thousand 'Lego' people in a big washing machine - gawd!!! So i would like to take this opportunity to Thank Lord Jesus Christ for sparing the lives of my family. On top of that, on whatever reason God allowed this horrible tragedy to happen, Lets pray that its all in God's will and plan. Blessed be the Lord.

Now, i feel immensely guilty and crazy for putting a big Ignorance on my studies. I was given close to a month of study break. 1st week was spent at Phuket enjoying myself, then i came back to study for about 5 days, then i spent another week at Port Dickson for my youth camp. The camp was totally worth it, Pastor Gideon Munthye is really anointed and i feel that his message made everyone in youth grow up spiritually. Regardless, now that my studies is so neglected and hanging, i have no idea how to catch up with all my studies in 5 days and take my exam! I just got back from new year party and wanted to study, 10 minutes and my eyes are closing n closing, what can i say - lack of sleep. So, there goes another day, which means i have 4 days to catch up on biotechnology, maths, and engineering materials. I would need a day before the exam to fully revise separation. See how messy my life is? But there is no problem, The Lord is with me. If He wants me to score, i'll get questions that i can do, or else - life sux?

So since its new year, it calls for new resolutions..... like the previous years, i long to gain mass, yes! more weight maybe 10 kg for this year. Then i want to build up my physical muscles, hand strength to practice in either breakdancing, capoeira ( martial art ) or aikido perhaps. Bear in mind that table tennis and soccer would never leave my lifestyle because i have to admit i am seriously addicted to those game. Oh oh! A new addiction, PS2 game called Winning Eleven, its hard to play in the beginning, but with a few vodka lime, i got a lot better at the game, in fact, i couldn't wait until i finish my exam so that i can drive and play at west's place!.

Then i think, i want to purchase the things i want on my -wish list- if possible. Maybe maybe hopefully, i can meet the right girl? It would be fun~. Of course i will always fulfill my purpose in life on top of all that i listed. Love it when God reveals all my purpose in life, sadly not the complete version. Pretty sure it'll come when its time.

Sorry about this blog entry being rather messy without proper planning because i am sipping on vodka lime and i am kinda tired due to the new year party. Ciaoz.

Cheers.

The Return From Phuket

4 days in Phuket. A place of beautiful scenery, amazing beaches to their exotic culture. This trip is not going to climb very high in my travel list. Why? I have travelled to other parts of Thailand before, Hat yai and bangkok mainly, Phuket ranks very low if not for its beach and the unique experience it offers.

The beaches of phuket island is simply remarkable, so me and my siblings went for a snorkelling dip. Nice fishes, nice fishes, but guess what they bit me, stupid little fishes!. 5 minutes after i went into the bay, either its small jelly fishes stinging me or it has to be stupid little fishes. You watch out fishes, one day i'll catch and cook you for meal.

Being a tourist spot, there are many stalls and shops set up for tourist to grab souveneirs. There are wide variety of products that is sold there from accesories to flip flops, carvings, and many little adorable items. This is where the catch is. There are no price tags on the items sold, the price tag is available at the tourist's face and haggling skills. A stereotypical thai stall owner in phuket will hurl a 300 - 400% increase in price on anytime for european tourist and 200 - 300% for neighbouring asian countries. They will give you pressure and fake assurances like 'Good price for you', ' For you, i give you this price ', and others that resembles the same idea. Exactly when haggling comes in, first you act uninterested due to a digust on the price - make it obvious and then start walking away. 3 seconds later, you should hear a new price about 75 - 100% drop, Do not - i repeat do not show that you are interested in that drop. Its a whole ball game, make sure you give that 'i-can-get-better-price-elsewhere' look. The stall keeper will most likely hold a calculator and punch a low price or he/she will use reverse psychology on you by asking you 'How much would you give?'. Very dangerous and favoured trick because they know you don't know the how much is a bargain. My brother actually played-a-fool and responded by pressing 1 baht on the calculator, that is - 10 cents in malaysian currency. That tickled him and he went laughing still stand by his price - an idiot and a waste of time.

They are some shops i remember after tossing high price on something i asked the price for. He claims that the product he is selling is original! - in the bloody streets of patong beach. To be specific, in a small stall by the streets of patong beach. What the hell is wrong with him?. Later, when i found a mall, i realised there is where shopping is, items of subtantial quality and price. Then, i think, its either you can skip all the hassle and buy something at high price for high quality or go through the trouble to haggle and buy something at low price and mediocre quality. I used mediocre simply because the items sold in the stalls are actually not bad. Its just the attitude of the stall keeper that is hard to handle.

I find that the Thai people in Bangkok and Hat yai are much more friendlier and nicer than those in Phuket island. Not to mention, with better intention!. Thailand is pretty much relying on tourism for their country's income, as a result the people in phuket are real @#$%^&*!

Now to focus on my shopping experience, i got a silver cross and chain from some plaza in patong beach at a bargain, and a silver ring that can rotate - damn i always wanted one of these, adidas liner socks, boxing gloves, two souvenir t-shirts to remind me of my phuket experience and brilliant ideas of what to buy when i am back in kuala lumpur. ( Pictures coming soon in my galleria )

The best part of the trip... Its the thai traditional massage. The masseur did all the thai massage twisting and bone-cracking sound thing. It feels so so so goooooood. After all the assignments and lectures, finally a kickback relax time with thai massage, just worth it.

By the way, the experience at phuket beach is indescribable or perhaps not appropriate to be described here. ;-)

Thats all for the phuket story of the century. ( I m not going back there anyway )

Cheers, A'Dios

Breakfast for Thought

Breakfast, the most neglected meal, and routinely skipped meal. While all three traditional meals play an important part in supplying out bodies with the daily recommended levels of essential nutrients, most experts agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. From articles of many sources to food facts and studies, it is clearly obvious that breakfast results in a more positive attitude, slimmer body, and better concentration. Breakfast really does kick start your day so don't skip it no more.

Breakfast is Brain Food
According to Foodfactsasia, eating breakfast is associated with improvements in mental performance. Starting the day with a light meal has positive impact on alertness, concentration, and helps to establish a positive attitude towards school studies, workplaces task and other activities. This is hardly suprising, given breakfast, especially carbohydrate-based breakfasts boost brain glucose levels, and micronutrients, such as B vitamins commonly added to breakfast cereals are also known to have positive effect on brain functions.

Breakfast eaters are slimmer
People who claim they are cutting calories by skipping breakfast, also are the very same people who are found snacking later in the day and fighting the low energy battle in the late afternoon and evening. Breakfast was designed to rev up your body for the rest of the day by boosting your energy, keeping your eating patterns even and stimulating your body's metabolism. No wonder those who skip breakfast are constantly in the "focus on weight loss" mode.

Make it Easy

One of the most common reasons given for skipping breakfast is 'lack of time'. The morning rush to get out of the house on time is a common feature in so many busy lives nowadays. This time pressure combined with assumptions that a nutritious breakfast will take time to prepare and eat, is a common reason why breakfast may disappear from the morning routine.

Another very common reason given for missing breakfast is 'lack of appetite.' Normally night time is the longest period in the daily routine when no food or drink is consumed, and yet despite this, many report not wanting to eat in the early morning. If you want to re-establish the breakfast habit, but 'no appetite' is the obstacle, start with something small, and easy, and concentrate first on making it part of the morning routine. Something is better than nothing.

One solution to both of these challenges is to plan ahead, and choose foods which seem most appealing in the early part of the day, and then ensure they are on hand and ready in the morning, or why not consider getting up just 10 minutes earlier in the morning?

Also, think beyond cooked and elaborate traditional breakfasts, and choose foods from the starchy cereals and grains; high calcium; fruit and vegetable food groups: Quick, cold dishes such as breakfast cereal and dairy or soy milk or breakfast bars with a carton of juice or milk; pots of yoghurt, fresh or dried fruit; rice crackers with a sweet or savoury spread, buns or other lower fat bakery goods offer easy grab-and-go options, that can be eaten on the way to work or school if necessary. If picking up food after leaving the house, try to avoid fried foods and aim to include some fresh fruit or vegetables; for example grilled fish with vegetables instead of fried rice, an omelette stuffed with finely chopped vegetables or a carton of juice with a muesli bar.
